Sheila Ingle
South Carolina native Sheila Ingle is a graduate of Converse College where she earned an undergraduate in English with minors in psychology and religion. Her career in writing began after her retirement from teaching at USC Upstate. She tells stories of South Carolina history. “The Class that Never Was” relates the story of her father’s class at the Citadel who were taken out of school their junior year to serve in World War II. “Finding Mr. Wright” is the story of two audacious sisters who asked Frank Lloyd Wright to draw plans for their home in Greenville, SC, and he did. Her published books, such as “Courageous Kate,” “Fearless Martha,” and “Brave Elizabeth” focus on the bravery of Patriot women living in Revolutionary War South Carolina.
