For Mary Lambeth Moore each occupation contained the common thread of writing. Her occupations have included student, government bureaucrat, freelance writer, corporate consultant, fiction editor, and property manager in remote Arizona. Currently, she is Senior Writer at Self-Help in Durham, a non-profit that works for greater economic opportunity for people left out of mainstream financial services.

She has been a ghostwriter for CEOs, national policy leaders and community advocates. She has published numerous articles under others’ names as well as her own short fiction. For three years she served as the fiction editor of Carolina Wren Press in Durham, where she edited In the Arms of Our Elders by William Henry Lewis–a collection of stories praised by writers such as Ann Beattie and Peter Matthiessen.
