Book ‘Em Kick-Off Event in 6 Days
NC Poet Laureate Jaki Shelton Green will help kick off Book ‘Em by leading a poetry workshop followed by a reading of her works at Robeson Community College July 17th. She will first lead a workshop, Building Community through Writing and Art, from 9am until 11:30am and then read her work at 1pm. Both events are free and open to the public. The poetry workshop does require registration as space is limited. The afternoon reading is open to the public.
An Afternoon of Poetry
For one day NC Poet Laureate Jaki Shelton Green will be in Lumberton, NC. The From 9am until 11:30 am, she will lead a workshop, “Building Community through Writing and Art” at Robeson Community College. Space is limited, so registration is required. The workshop is sponsored by the Robeson County Public Library and the NC Humanities Council.
That afternoon the Robeson County Arts Council and Book ‘Em presents an afternoon of poetry as Jaki Shelton Green reads her poetry and discusses her inspiration. The reading begins at 1pm in the Workforce Development Building at Robeson Community College. The event is free and open to the public.

Book ‘Em Postponed
We hope you are safe as Hurricane Florence, now tropical storm, passes by. The hurricane has had severe effects on our area and our state; therefore, Book ‘Em, originally scheduled for Saturday, September 22, will be postponed.
